  INTRODUCTION   Dream is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. Or we can say that dream is a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal. One can indulge in daydreams or fantasies about something greatly desired. So, there is a deep relation between dreams and desire. Though, dreams and desires of American people are somewhat different from that.   WHAT IS THE AMERICAN DREAM   American dream deals with the ideal by which equality of opportunity is available to any American, allowing the highest aspirations and goals to be achieved. Actually, the American dream is the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a society in which upward mobility is possible for everyone.   INTRODUCTION TO ‘A ROOM OF ONE’S OWN’ BY VIRGINIA WOOLF ‘A Room of One's Own’  by Virginia Woolf is an extended essay. Actually, this essay is based on her two lectures delivered in October 1928 at two of women’s constituent colleges named Newnham College and Girton College under the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. The essay first published as a book in September 1929. In her essay, Woolf uses metaphors to explore social injustices and she comments on women's lack of free expression. For example, she uses metaphor of a fish to explain her most essential point, "A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction".
